Minister of Environment Issues Licensing Regulation for Water Efficiency and Conservation Service Providers
His Excellency the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, has approved the "Licensing Regulation for Water Efficiency and Conservation Service Providers" which will come into effect 365 days after their publication, as part of efforts to regulate water efficiency and conservation activities across urban, agricultural and industrial sectors in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) stated that the regulation include 34 key articles, covering their objectives, scope of application, general provisions, licensing requirements and conditions.
In addition to the types of licenses, application, renewal, modification, and cancellation procedures. It also specify the obligations of service providers, monitoring and compliance procedures.
The center emphasized that these regulation aim to establish an executive framework for organizing water efficiency and conservation activities, including licensing practitioners, defining their responsibilities, monitoring mechanisms, ensuring quality and addressing violations.
It is worth noting that the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) undertakes multiple responsibilities in preserving, developing, and ensuring the sustainability of water resources, as well as protecting them from waste, contributing to long-term water sustainability.
