“MAEE” discusses reducing water consumption for the most consuming governmental entities

the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center organized a workshop in Riyadh today entitled “Water Consumption Reduction Initiative for Governmental Entities”. The third workshop which held in 2024 aims to enhancing cooperation efforts with various entities to achieve water sustainability and promote a culture of rationalization in water consumption. The workshop focused on the importance of transforming the Kingdom into a global model in the field of water sustainability by adopting proactive measures to detect and treat water leaks to stop water waste, in addition to working on the path of improving water efficiency and rationalization through, periodic monitoring of water consumption at sites affiliated with governmental entities and working to reach normal consumption according to the number of users for each site, implementing preventive maintenance for the water system for each site and benefiting from the guide implemented by the center to examine the water system. In addition to relying on alternative sources of public network water for use in cooling, irrigation and other uses, and working to implement a plan to replace non-rational sanitary tools with rational ones according to the technical regulations approved by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization. The launch of the initiative by “MAEE” at the beginning of 2024 to reduce water consumption in all governmental entities 10% by the end of 2024 came as a result of the encouraging consequences achieved in reducing water consumption, which were achieved through the implementation of several projects and initiatives, the most important of which was the water rationalization project in the government sector, which was launched by “MAEE” in 2022, which aims to study and implement solutions to reduce consumption in multiple government sites and facilities and resulted in achieving a reduction in water consumption exceeding 75%, and the project to implement rationalization solutions in 436 sites affiliated with the Ministries of Education and Islamic Affairs, through joint cooperation between “MAEE” and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, which resulted in achieving an average reduction in water consumption exceeding 78% in the participating entities.

MAEE organizes two workshops in the field of water efficiency and conservation and honors the contributing entities in the government conservation project.

MAEE organized today in Riyadh two workshops entitled "Water Sustainability in Government Entities" and "Collaboration with Higher Education in Research, Development, and Innovation." This is part of MAEE's ongoing role in unifying efforts with all entities to contribute to achieving water sustainability and fostering a culture of water conservation. The workshop on "Water Sustainability in Government Entities" discussed the water consumption reduction project in the government sector, presenting ways to achieve best practices for water systems to ensure the highest efficiency and conservation of water usage. The workshop on "Collaboration with Higher Education in Research, Development, and Innovation" addressed strategies for integrating with educational institutions to enhance the efficiency of water supply chains and optimize consumption in urban, agricultural, and industrial sectors. This includes encouraging research and innovation in these areas, with several tracks and sessions for discussion involving experts and stakeholders. MAEE aims for the Kingdom to be a global model in water, environmental, and economic sustainability by unifying efforts to enhance water supply chain efficiency and instill a culture of consumption conservation. MAEE also honored successful partners from government entities that contributed to the success of the government conservation project at targeted locations, which aims to cover 36 government sites.

The Board of Directors of the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) held its ninth meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh, chaired by His Excellency Eng. The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) launched, on Tuesday, a campaign under the slogan "A habit that achieves sustainability", which aims to raise awareness of the importance of water conservation and promote optimal use behaviors to contribute to the sustainability of water resources. The center confirms through the daily behaviors campaign at home, it highlights the role of community participation in reducing water waste and consolidating rational behavior among our sons and daughters, by proposing many solutions that contribute to rationalizing water consumption, including: Various household behaviors and conservation tools, in addition to a water conservation card, with the aim of avoiding the consequences of water waste and building water-secure future. This campaign comes as a continuation of the Centre’s efforts to contribute to achieving water sustainability and economic development, to reach the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, by applying the best sustainable practices in accordance with optimal economic solutions.

MAEE’s Campaign Raises Awareness on Water Conservation During Hajj Season

The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) has launched an awareness campaign during the Hajj season 1445 A.H. MAEE Raises Awareness About Water Leaks with "The Hidden Consumer" Campaign

The awareness campaign, "The Hidden Consumer," launched by MAEE aims to raise awareness about the impact of water leaks on residential properties safety and increased water consumption that leads to water wastage. "The Hidden Consumer'' is part of MAEE's ongoing efforts to aware the public. It highlights the damage caused by leaks and provides solutions to minimize them. It also encourages people to regularly check for leaks to ensure the safety of their homes and reduce water consumption. Through the campaign, MAEE has clarified 5 main parts to help residential properties owners and renters detect water leaks: Water meter and underground tank connections, water tank float, tank access hatch, main tank body (if applicable), above-ground water tank, and faucets (or specific end-delivery points). MAEE has already launched the "Kashf'' app that provides different solutions to detect water leaks inside residential properties. The app connects users with MAEE's qualified professionals to schedule leakage detection services at their convenience. Moreover, all app users can get a certified report on the detection status. This feedback allows them to evaluate their overall experience, which helps MAEE maintain and improve service performance.
