"MAEE" signs a memorandum of understanding with the Research and Innovation Agency at the Ministry of Environment on the sidelines of the Saudi Water Forum

The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Research and Innovation Agency in the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture to enhance joint cooperation between them and activate the tasks and work of water efficiency and rationalization in the field of research and innovation. The memorandum was signed on the sidelines of the Saudi Water Forum in its third edition held in the city of Riyadh, and the two sides were represented by the CEO of the National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation, Eng. Fahad bin Huwaizi Al-Dosari, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Research and Innovation, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Malik Al-Malik. The memorandum aims to enhance joint cooperation and activate water efficiency and rationalization tasks and actions in the field of research and innovation through research and development in the field of innovative technologies for water efficiency and rationalization, and participation in local and international forums related to research and innovation in the field of water efficiency and rationalization.

Minister Al-Fadli Chairs the Ninth Meeting of the Board of Directors of the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE)

The Board of Directors of the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) held its ninth meeting at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh, chaired by His Excellency Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadli , the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture. The meeting was attended by council members. His Excellency Eng. Fahad Al-Dossari, the CEO of MAEE, and his team reviewed MAEE’s achievements for the year 2023 and the water savings achieved from initiatives and projects. The council also discussed the action plan for the year 2024 and the topics listed on the council's agenda.

"MAEE" launches the "The Hidden Consumer" Campaign to raise awareness about the impact of water leaks inside properties

The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) has launched the "Hidden Consumer" campaign, which aims to raise awareness about the impact of water leaks inside properties on increasing water consumption and emphasizes the importance of periodic detection and repair to reduce water waste. The center explained that the Hidden Consumer campaign is part of its programs to raise awareness about the impact of leaks and to find appropriate solutions to mitigate them. It pointed out that periodic detection of leaks and ensuring the property is free from them contributes to maintaining property safety, in addition to reducing water consumption. The center added that property owners and tenants should periodically inspect for leaks in five key areas that are major sources of household leaks, including the connection between the meter and the underground tank, the float, neck, and body of the underground tank, parts of the overhead tank, the descending network, and final use points. It is worth mentioning that MAEE previously launched the "Detection" application for smartphones with the aim of providing solutions for detecting water leaks inside citizens' and residents' properties. The application facilitates connecting beneficiaries with qualified leak detection service providers accredited by MAEE. Additionally, it enables beneficiaries to choose the appropriate service provider to perform leak detection, provides customers with a report on the detection results, allows them to evaluate their experience with institutions and companies, and continuously monitors the performance of leak detection service providers to improve service quality.

The National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE) signed a memorandum of understanding with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center to enhance cooperation in the areas of water efficiency and conservation, achieve water and financial sustainability, and preserve national assets. The memorandum was signed by H.E. Eng. Fahad Al-Dossari, the CEO of the National Water Efficiency and Conservation Center (MAEE), while King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center was represented by Dr. Rashid Alhumaid, Assistant Executive General Supervisor. The memorandum aims to enhance mutual cooperation by activating assignments and activities related to water efficiency and conservation in the residential and health sectors, exchanging knowledge and expertise, and providing a model for cooperation among national sectors to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The cooperation includes the exchange of information and data in relevant fields, enabling the use of water-guiding systems and technologies, providing technical support to enhance infrastructure, and improving water efficiency and conservation efforts to contribute to achieving water sustainability. According to the memorandum of understanding, the two parties will collaborate on social responsibility programs and community awareness initiatives aimed at conserving water consumption, as well as preparing studies and consulting services, organizing initiatives, and conducting joint workshops and training courses to enhance individuals' awareness in relevant fields.
