During COP16: " MAEE" Center Organizes Workshop on Water Efficiency and Conservation
The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (MAEE) held an awareness workshop titled "The Impact of Legislation and Technologies on Water Sustainability" as part of the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) to Combat Desertification.
The workshop aimed to highlight the role of legislation, guidelines, and technical solutions in reducing water wastage and achieving efficiency in urban, industrial, and agricultural sectors, in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The event was attended by the center's CEO, Eng. Fahad bin Huwaizi Al-Dosari, along with a number of experts and specialists in the water sector.
The center emphasized that the workshop aligns with its ongoing efforts to enhance water resource efficiency and promote conservation through innovative initiatives that support the National Water Strategy. The center is actively working on several initiatives to contribute to the sustainability of Saudi Arabia’s water resources.
The workshop addressed several key themes, starting with the first theme was about Legislation and Guidelines. This session included a presentation on the center's role in developing regulatory guides and monitoring compliance.
The second theme was about Water Efficiency in the Urban Sector, this segment showcased innovative solutions worked on by the center to improve water consumption efficiency.
The Third theme was about Utilization of Technology, Discussions focused on how modern technologies can be employed to ensure water conservation across various facilities.
The workshop concluded with a panel discussion attended by representatives from relevant entities and experts, focusing on the importance of collaborative efforts to achieve water sustainability goals.
The National Center for Water Efficiency and Conservation (MAEE) is responsible for developing water efficiency standards and procedures, ensuring their implementation across all sectors, enhancing public awareness, and collaborating with the private sector to reduce water wastage and contribute to sustainable water resources.
